Kiosk User Guide

How to set up, run, and get the most out of your cordn photo booth kiosk at an event — written for first-time operators.

What Is the Photo Booth?

The cordn AI Photo Booth is a self-serve photo station. A guest poses for a picture, and the AI transforms it into a themed character or style in moments. The guest receives the finished photo on their phone through a QR code or email, and can post it to your event's live gallery screen.

Guests pose

Guests choose a photo experience, follow the on-screen prompts, and the photo is captured.

AI transforms it

The captured photo becomes a themed character portrait, automatically.

Guests take it home

A QR code on screen lets guests download and share their photo instantly.

The kiosk arrives preconfigured for your event. Your job on site is simple: power, internet, and positioning.

Setting Up the Kiosk

Do this before guests arrive.

Assemble

Assemble the kiosk following the manufacturer's assembly instructions.

Plug It In

Connect power. The kiosk boots on its own and the photo experience launches automatically. Give it a few minutes to fully load.

If the experience doesn't appear right away, don't start changing settings — let it finish starting.

Confirm Internet

Wi-Fi is usually preconfigured. If your event's name and logo appear on screen, you're online. AI photos need internet for the whole event — venue Wi-Fi can take a few minutes to settle at busy times.

Take a Test Photo

Run one complete photo yourself, end to end. Confirm:

  • The camera opens and captures.
  • AI processing begins and finishes.
  • The finished photo appears.
  • The QR code appears and scans on your phone.

If all four work, the kiosk is event-ready.

Position It

  • •Set the screen in landscape (horizontal) orientation.
  • •Guests stand comfortably 3–6 feet from the camera, so leave that space clear.
  • •Avoid placing the screen directly facing a bright window; keep the area reasonably lit.
  • •Leave room for individuals and small groups.
  • •Keep it connected to power all event long.

The Guest Experience

What every attendee sees, from arrival to their photo in hand.

From Start to Photo in Hand

  1. 1Guest taps Start on the event welcome screen.
  2. 2The guest picks a photo experience from the event's list.
  3. 3The guest follows the on-screen prompts and the photo is captured. Anyone visible in the camera's view may end up in the picture, so the space in front of the kiosk matters.
  4. 4The AI transforms the photo. A progress screen plays while it works — usually a short wait.
  5. 5The finished picture appears. Tapping the photo shows it full size; tapping outside closes it.
  6. 6The guest fills in the Get Your Photo form and taps Send to Me. The photo is emailed, and a QR code pops up on screen to scan and download it instantly. Events with a Get QR Code button skip the form and show the QR code right away.
  7. 7The guest taps Start Over, leaving the booth ready for the next guest.

Button names can differ slightly per event, but every event follows this same flow.

Result Screen Buttons

What each option on the finished-photo screen actually does.

Send to Me / Get QR Code

  • •Send to Me emails the photo to the guest using the details entered in the Get Your Photo form. The moment it sends, a QR code pops up on screen — the guest can scan it with their phone camera to download and share the photo immediately.
  • •Get QR Code (when the event shows it) skips the form and shows the QR code directly.

Try Another Persona

Creates a brand-new AI photo from the same original picture with a different character or style — no new photo needed. Anything the guest already typed carries over. Guests can keep tapping it to cycle through the event's experiences; each new photo replaces the one on screen and gets its own QR code after sending.

Post to Gallery

Puts the photo on the event's live gallery screen for everyone to see. A "Posted!" confirmation appears once it's on the wall.

Start Over

Returns to the event welcome screen so the next guest can begin fresh. The previous picture is already safe — it was delivered or posted before this point.

Keeping It Running During the Event

Your checklist while guests flow through.

Operator Checklist

  • •Keep the kiosk powered and online the entire time — that's what photos need.
  • •Glance at the screen occasionally; if a guest walks away mid-flow, tap Back to return to the main screen.
  • •Photos guests post appear on the live gallery automatically.
  • •Encourage guests to scan the QR code before walking away.

Common Issues

Quick fixes for the things that occasionally happen.

Fast Fixes

Photos won't generate

Check the internet connection first. Venue Wi-Fi may temporarily drop; photos will resume once it returns.

Camera says "not connected"

Tap Back to the main screen, unplug the camera's USB cable at the back of the kiosk, wait a few seconds, and plug it back into the same port. No kiosk restart needed.

On the Android home screen

Open Fully Kiosk Browser — the photo experience relaunches automatically.

Photos processing slowly

Usually the venue's internet. Give the photo extra time before retrying.

Screen appears frozen

First confirm an AI image isn't mid-processing. If truly unresponsive, restart the kiosk — the experience reopens on its own.

Need the detailed walkthroughs (Wi-Fi setup, camera reconnection, step by step)? See the Kiosk Setup & Help page.

Please Don't Change These

The kiosk is preconfigured for your event — these changes can take it offline.

Off-Limits

  • ✕Factory reset the kiosk
  • ✕Remove or reconfigure Fully Kiosk Browser
  • ✕Change camera permissions
  • ✕Install Android updates during the event
  • ✕Change browser settings
  • ✕Move the camera USB cable to another port unless instructed
